Cole numbers

Of South African nationality, Desmond and Naureen Cole, although they werre not specialized in botany (Desmond was a linguist, Naureen was a pharmacist), devote a devouring passion for succulent plants from South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, and especially for Lithops. They gradually gave up their professional activities to devote themselves exclusively to the inventory of Lithops and the setting up of a huge collection and an invaluable seed bank.

They are the authors of the reference book on living stones “Lithops, flowering stones” and the majority of the Lithops seeds that are offered on the market bear their mark: the C of Cole. These collection numbers are referenced and filled in the following document.
